As Systems Administrator at JIBC, Dustin was responsible for Ellucian Colleague, Self-Service, WebAdvisor, and Informer. Dustin’s experience with these systems made him the “go-to” person for technical and operational questions relating to systems and applications. His experience in implementing and serving as the lead tech for multiple improvement projects for these systems, as well as his experience navigating the Colleague databases made him an important resource for JIBC on improvement projects, data consistency (finding erroneous data and maintaining proper data) and producing complex informer reports.

 

Dustin’s ability to work with both technical and non-technical folks, making technical concepts understandable for everyone, will support him well in his new role at OA Solutions. Dustin excels at translating technical concepts to non-technical language, as he describes “changing how everything works from technological black magic to understandable technological engineering and processes.”

 

Dustin’s experience includes support for a variety of applications, including Learning Management Systems, SharePoint and Colleague. Dustin’s technical background includes Oracle, MSSQL 2015, mySQL, C#, ASP.net, HTML/CSS, VB.NET, Visual Basic Programming and Unix/Linux environments. Dustin is well-versed in Colleague user and role-based security. With experience writing complex reports in Informer, Dustin will be able to support OA clients with better access and understanding of data for their own reporting.

 

A welcome addition to OA’s development team, Dustin is keen to expand his knowledge with programming within Colleague, though the API's, Self-Service, and through Colleague studios. With experience in the post-secondary industry, Dustin is familiar with the Canadian post-secondary landscape. Our clients can be assured that they now have additional resources from OA Solutions.
